This brings back all the sweet memories of my first computer Apple //c (which had a 65C02) and the innumerable hours spent typing code into it from inCider magazine and learning from it.
AskHN : Accidentally got some dust in my eye. What do I do?
I actually remember reading about this in old issues of Nibble Magazine I was reading in the late 80s/early 90s. The first time I watched the movie I was looking for it.
My first computer was an Apple //c as well - I learned BASIC and assembly on it out of nibble magazine. I still have everything and I have dreams of setting it up as a terminal and using it to code in emacs.
I miss the days of magazines with code in them and computer with BASIC and assemblers/disassemblers in the ROM.
I remember Nibble published a text adventure game, but to preserve the mystery for the reader who typed it in all the text messages were encrypted with some sort of trivial cipher. It was absolute hell to type all that stuff in ("ZPV BSF JM B....") and KeyPerfect was no help.
One of the early Make magazines mentioned a modern Apple II kit. Perhaps a fun side project? Assuming I'm not mis-remembering I'll fish out the reference and post it later.
I am in the process to build my old Amiga up to use it as dumb terminal. Best reason I could find to have one of the golden boxes aorund (and using it).
