But Godot Engine "can do consoles" for a few years now. W4 Games isn't the first to provide a solution for this, nor will they be the last, due to Godot's MIT licensing.
Problem: nothing is really confirmed, no source has been provided. People just assume it is, because of the poster's status in the Godot Engine community.
There was a rumor going around based on a single screenshot from a 3D artist which in the mean time vanished.
We all can still make educated guesses as to what was Godot Engine's role in this project and to what extent it was actually used.
Dithered 8-bit is approximately the same / slightly better noise floor as a cassette anyway, so if that's the market they're trying to compare to it's "reasonable". (Still silly as hell IMHO, but whatever makes people happy!)
Thanks for this list. Am in the process of looking for contract work.
One interesting thing is that most sites target freelancers as single people. What if I have a team of coders/designers (ie. a small software house) looking for clients? That's my current problem. Maybe will start a new thread about this.
A non-trivial number of the "freelancers" on Upworks are in fact project managers for larger teams. They'll act as the face of the project and handle communications, but the work will be done by others.
But I agree it would be nice if this was made more explicit, and even touted as a feature. In many cases I might feel more comfortable hiring a team consisting of two developers a graphic designer and a UI/UX expert as opposed to one person claiming to be an expert in all those fields.
"Somehow the Americans don't like wire transfer in Euros"
I'm really not surprised. It's the same with EU countries having to wire money to some non-euro currency.
Why not setup a US dollar account? After receiving payment in your client's currency, you can rather cheaply convert it to your own currency.
In my experience, US companies are interested in PayPal or TransferWise or other such methods only when for some reason wire transfer is not an option. I don't think you are in such a situation. Depending on the amount, using those services could be more expensive than handling a US dollar wire transfer with SHA (shared costs).
