Quite possibly. The internet's existence means it's a lot easier to have hobbies and interests and friendships that your real life friends and family don't know about, that's for sure.
Happiness is being able to do what your mind desires i.e. having lot of Freedom. Money unlocks freedom. But tasting too much freedom can be distressing and disorienting. A river dries out if not restricted by banks.(e.g. Britney Spears). So we need exoskeleton of externally imposed restrictions to keep us in shape so that our guts don't fall out. Anxiety is the dizziness of Freedom.
I sometimes think private individuals in America are held to much higher standard than public representatives. Somehow, it is like "all things considered" my party did the right thing under the circumstances but that "all things considered" leniency is not shown to private individuals.
This is also the reason why game industry is very evil. That steady supply of youngsters trying to prove themselves on their teenage profession choice are taken advantage of. If they pivoted to other software domains, I can understand.
I think Nvidia should publicly declare that they will continue to build (even if Meta decides to stop) open llms so that their hardware is sold. Give away the software so that hardware gets sold. Similar to Google gives away Android to OEMs.
Pay per impression is a metric adexchanges use. So it is not in best interest of companies to remove bots. Bots create "economic activity" when such metrics are used.
One doesn't even need to use llms. I caught a bot which was cross-pollinating comments from youtube's comment section into reddit when that youtube video was shared on reddit.
How about a totally fake social media populated by llm bots and rake in VC moolah?

Elon Musk is the deep state for goodness sake. Social media moguls love collecting your data and selling it for piles of cash. They also love the cash from authoritarian regimes paying for their inability to shut up and having to spend 44 billion for a company, and then using it to manipulate the public.
