Stigma... stigma... yeah, try using a flip phone... or anything other than an android or iphone smart phone XDXDXD

No buddy likes my webkit OS anymore

This is obvious tabloid-esque content from a non-tech source. I do not think this is good enough content to belong on hackernews

I liked Jon Stewart's take on the Wuhan Lab Theory https://yewtu.be/watch?v=sSfejgwbDQ8 watching that always cracks me up

I've seen this comment repeated about 4 or 5 times in the last 30 minutes. HN is not a place for vacuous and lame comments like these.

facebook, inc. is not just an amiercan issue. For years they have been nefariously bribing other countries to promote their website.

Take for example internet.org internet takeover attempt in India, or a better example, in Brazil facebook, inc. bribes local telcom providers to provide whatsapp access for free ( users are not charged data usage )

their agenda is clear. abuse and lie through their teeth, making as much money and power as possible.

facebook, inc. is a cancer on our global society.

Excellent analogy.

Almost hilariously the exact definition of a Logical Fallacy of a Loaded Question: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loaded_question

Ex. "When did you stop beating your wife?"

We need to educate more people against logical fallacies, and we need to educate and arm people with better critical thinking skills.

>We need to educate more people against logical fallacies

Definitely! And train them on how to identify and fend this sort of abuse, particularly on students (and youth in general) who often find themselves in situations where there is a huge power imbalance playing against them.

While I was studying at KAUST (Saudi Arabia's flaghship university), my daughter was kidnapped by the staff there and held hostage for a few weeks, all of this to try to get me to sign some documents I didn't want to [1]. Aside from other things, they were desperately trying to get some dirt on me using such tactics, so that part of the post resonated with me very well.

I am in the process of writing a book about this whole ordeal with the intent of letting other people learn from my experience and how to get out of this sort of thing in time, or better yet, never fall into it in the first place.

How apropos it is that hackernews has flagged this, I really hope that mods remove the flag here, this warrants debate and discussion.

>in his first three years at Augusta Fells, he failed 22 classes and was late or absent 272 days

I recently graduated highschool, well I suppose recent is subjective, but I cannot imagine missing 272 days. You're not even remotely trying.

I don't think anyone denies the kid checked out. At what point does the school not have culpability after letting him go to the next grade?

For reference, a school year is 200 days. Imagine skipping almost a year and a half of school.
