Goes to prove Google has a very strong position on the market.

My guess is, a lot of people would choose Google as a provider of any internet- or computer-related service or goods from among of several vendors. And would trust Google with their data, be it private or related to their business.

Google OS anybody?

No, it goes to prove that most people think "browser" means search engine and don't grasp the significance of the actual browser at all. Before Google, they thought Yahoo or MSN was their "browser"* . They clearly recognize that they have a choice and most of them choose Google, at least when asked by a Google employee.

* At least, that's the simplest assumption we can make, unless someone has some actual data from back then.

I would like to think this, but Android isn't really enjoying the success of the iPhone. People like Google, but are still happy with alternatives.
