If that was the case, couldn't Google have sold the site to someone else, instead of scrapping it?




The amount of effort to decouple Reader from Google's internal infrastructure is not trivial.

I'm an engineer and not a business person but I imagine that finding someone to buy Reader and then executing the deal would also be non-trivial.
