BTW, you may want to read about ocean acidification, which occurs in parallel with global warming. CO2 is a Lewis Acid, and ~35% of it ends up dissolved in the oceans.
Its anticipated consequences are as bad if not worse, and it is far less contentious than its atmospheric cousin.
