Perhaps AI would not have killed off Private Division like Zelnick did.


This turns a phrase on its head. All he does is hammer nails, so everything is a hammer of differing effectiveness.

There's a qualitative difference between earlier game playing programs and AlphaZero or MuZero.


We used to get bothered by calling something AI when it was really just hard-coded rules, and then statistical prediction. Now I can't see it being accurately called anything but AI since it exhibits human-level capabilities in many areas, and it certainly doesn't achieve this by natural/human means of intelligence.
