Why most dev's dislike answering algorithmic questions? (quora.com)

Because I'm a self-taught web developer, not a computer scientist.

I have accumulated a lot of experience since my first website in 1999, but I would be incapable, literally, of answering "algorithmic questions" or solving fizzbuzz or any of that… which, incidentally, is mostly useless in real life.


I think being unable to solve fizzbuzz goes well beyond not being able to solve tricky graph traversal problems optimally.

It's more on "you have been programming for more than 2 weeks and we can now do an interview"
