My rule of thumb is "if you had the opportunity to tell your side of the story but chose not to, then I'm going to accept the other party's side of the story as gospel".



Some people just don't respond, period


So? If that policy ends up damaging their reputation it is noones fault but their own.


Sometimes it's just better to rarely intervene. Yes the issue of being in control of your story is there.

But replying makes the story last longer.

And there's the saying, it's never confirmed until it's denied.

In the end, they did respond.
