I'm always inspired when someone (like the author of the Algol 68 compiler you used) decides to make a historically important – but obsolete and generally unavailable – software system usable and available on modern hardware.
A few people were doing Advent of Code at work and I guess I wanted the bragging rights of doing it in the most obscure language possible.
I think if I did something like this again I would do it with an old Advent of Code to remove the competitive pressure. It was fun to start with but it ended up stressing me out quite a bit towards the end (which is not ideal over the Christmas vacation).
