It would be super interesting to combine this with computer vision / landmark recognition, to enable kind of a "hands-off fly by wire" navigation, say, between two waypoints (eg. charging stations).

An initial manned flight or several to teach the best takeoff sequence, travel path and landing approach, then leave the machine to fend for itself.
