Yes. I got a little bit out of it, certainly, but it really is mostly an exercise of compiling packages. I was a little disappointed but in the end LFS inspired me to take on a rewrite of the Unix Coreutils in Golang. I learned far more about Unix systems from doing this than anything else. It also improved my skills a lot, I look back on some of this code and cringe a little bit.
