I tinkered with Unity for years but it always felt... complex. I mostly do 2D games I always felt I was fighting the IDE. C# is what kept me around though. But Godot's IDE is very noob friendly. Especially if you're not doing a lot of crazy novel things. There's a lot of sensible defaults and functionality.
A few gripes with the GDScript language though. Might switch back to C#.
