There is an endless list of "proven" things that are ideal for employee performance, team performance, ideal culture, etc. and very often - too often - those things are ignored (for a countless number of reasons).
There is zero reason to believe leadership and management is suddenly going to smarten up and do things that are "ideal".
No one can predict the future. When it comes to jobs IRL academia is simply not qualified to even guess wildly. These in-a-bubble perspectives aren't going to calm any reasonable worker's nerves.
