Show HN: An adventure game in Z80 assembly for CP/M and ZX Spectrum (github.com/skx)

Best adventure solvable in 12 turns I ever played. Nicest part was being thrown back to a nostalgic ZX Spectrum BASIC prompt after finishing, and remembering that LIST is under the 'K' key.

Thank you, that's very kind.

I tried to make it more playable via the tiny-font, working around the narrow width of the Spectrum display, but I think I need to add word-wrapping to the text-output for a better experience.

(PS. You can solve the game in four turns if you try!)

Or if you're too lazy to install the emulator, just play it from his webpage: https://steve.fi/software/lighthouse/

For me, that emulator seems to drop about 1/3 of all keypresses at normal typing speed, making it basically unusable.

Yes, but the ZX Spectrum membrane keyboard and the PLA scheme for sensing one keypress among each set of five keys, also dropped keypresses and forced you to type really slow.

That means it's an accurate emulator! There's a reason Speccy had a word-per-key input mode for programming

I mean this in all sincerity, but just type slower.

This was great! Fun little adventure :)

Fantastic job Steve.
