I can’t eat something named “clotted cream”.

You're missing out then, it's delicious

Can confirm, we served this stuff in our short-lived tea shop in New York and it made a huge difference in the quality of the product.

It is perhaps for this reason that "black pudding" has the name that it does [0], rather than the more accurate "blood sausage"

Very tasty, surprisingly delicate if you cook it right.

The name black pudding is still enough to scare people off

Doesn't sound great, but it is delicious.

It's just cream that's been gently heated for an extended time to denature the proteins a bit. Not all that different in spirit from fresh cheeses (though cheesemakers denature the proteins by acidification or enzymatic methods).

When I was a child in the 80s, my (Chinese) dad used to order "bean curd" in restaurants when we visited big city Chinese restaurants. I always found the name unappetizing in the extreme.

Today, of course, I love tofu.

a hot scone, with clotted cream and home made jam... oh boy!

(best to experience this at a farm which makes their own, nothing beats home cooking)
