For the blackmailer it's a low risk proposition to fish for illegal payments. Their hacking and blackmail is already illegal anyway.

So this just means people will pay ransom illegally, if they're to save their data or prevent their private files and photos from being exposed to the world.

Now you don't just have the hacking to worry about, but also the law not being on your side.


But at least the victim isn't then paying the criminals' AWS bill.
