Pay-to-use toilet gag reveals how Google Maps can track people (crikey.com.au)

Google Maps is filled with fake listings and false reviews. Genuine businesses get negatively reviewed by rivals.

Google is abysmal when it comes to ensuring listing quality on Maps.

Other day read a post on reddit by someone who spoke with a local business - with many positive reviews - paid advance money to book a service and then realized he/she had been scammed. The scammer probably didn't even reside in the city.

I don't see how reviews can resist to LLMs in the future months / years.

Except if an id card is required to review, or if only your contacts' reviews are shown.
