I'm also very fond of Arch Linux and I use it on my laptop.
However Arch is very much DIY and is great for the person who wants to get their hands dirty because with Arch you assemble and maintain the installation yourself.
For someone who wants things to work out of the box with no (or minimal) tinkering, I would recommend a different distro.
Arch is a distro for learners and enthusiasts. But it would be frustrating for someone who just wants a working OS.
