Looks like this is basically for the paperwork they need to compel parties to disclose things like business practices if there is a credible complaint against them. Probably until now they have had to go through another department or section even though they've stood up an AI-specific division. So this just makes it easier for the AI team to, say, compel a company making allegedly fraudulent AI claims to justify those claims, or face the same consequences another company might for making, say, fraudulent product effectiveness claims. Same capabilities, just directed at bad actors in this corner of the industry.
