It's when I realize that you cannot simply have the screen (of Apple devices at least) display "white" by demanding a color "white".



I wouldn’t want all whites to be displayed that brightly on my monitor, because of battery drain and eye fatigue. So I’m fine with reserving HDR for certain applications like video, and using “normal” levels for everything else.

Maybe there should be some CSS extensions for using HDR directly on web pages, though, if the developer really wants to.


I mean that a designer may think, hey just give me the brightest white, but the most obvious way to do so is not “correct”. But is it impossible? No. It is just insane.
