While I share a bit of this feeling, I think what he says is true. And he does bang the same drum as you say, but it doesn't change the fact that he is mostly right.
I worked for the most part in jobs related to trading - trading floors can be crazy. But once the mathematicians and modern quants arrived, suddenly everybody realized how much more powerful this slow, methodological approach is.
I think it's similar with investing - if you do it right, it's ... boring. It should be boring, long term strategy. So people feel the urge to act. Trade something. Tune your portfolio a bit. etc etc. Don't do it ! Just sit down on your ass and wait !
