Maybe no deaths, but when you do something shady so that a company loses its contracts and is forced to fire swathes of employees, then that's a competition only if you're another company. If you're a nation state, that's not competition - that's plain aggression that puts people's livelihoods at risk. War? Maybe not, but definitely not a fair competition.
