Ask HN: How will the search engines deal with ChatGPT?

With ChatGPT's generated text becoming nearly indistinguishable from human written contents, it's a given that the internet is going to be spammed with generated texts now more than ever. How would the big search engines deal with this? Or would they do what they've always done so far, ignore everything and push more ads?

I believe OpenAI has included an GPT detector. I read it has ~ 99% confidence. https://huggingface.co/openai-detector/. It's still a question to me how they can implement it in mass, but the technology seems to be there.

of course if the model gets more robust + paraphrasing tools, it's going to get harder for the detector to work.
