Not necessarily, there are pros and cons. My daughter got a lot of attention as she was a single child during 9 years (considering the pregnancy for my son, which removed some attention, I won't tell 9 years and 9 months :D) and now we have a lot of attention for my son.
At the same time they cannot play as much as I played with my 14 month older brother, we are limited to what we can do with my son and that often doesn't match with what my daughter would like to do, while with a smaller time frame they would have more similar interest. At least, he's tall and adventurous enough already to be able to do nice roller coasters now :D
I would be less tired if he was older and more independent.
But actually in my case, there is also the fact my wife is studying to be a nurse, dedicating a lot of energy for it, so that I have to do more chores while I was already the one doing the most at home...
