They still market this feature today, even though it is dead in the water.

Hardware encryption was implemented so poorly that Microsoft said “enough is enough”, and simply dropped all such features from BitLocker.

It is impossible to enable this feature on any supported version of Windows.

(The straw that broke the camel’s back was apparently some vendors using “all zeroes” as the master encryption key.)

Samsung should be charged with false advertising.

If I wasn’t too lazy I would report them to the ACCC.




Hardware encryption should never have been trusted in the first place since it’s impossible to audit. The completely obvious thing happened where it’s incompetently implemented.
