To date, whether it be the DAO hack or 2.0 or whatever, all we see is how centralized systems make failure an inevitability rather than a possibility.
What I hope is that Starlink and Starship make it possible for new types of uncensorable ISPs get created that do not rely on these archaic models that rely on backbones out in the Ocean that are readily prone to attacks by adversaries that can be shut off at will [0] and rely on Nation-States to operate as a despot or regime sees fit.
That alone, beyond Mars colonization, should be enough for people to celebrate Spacex's success!
