The gist I got from Moxie's post was that this can't be done on the web itself without an intermediary, and this is very relevant if this is "web3" versus "the blockchain ecosystem". Why can't we have a serverless wallet app on the web?
Even if the underlying blockchain network supports lightweight clients, it is still not eliminating go-betweens in a way that makes it truly decentralized.
