This isn't limited to Acquia's enterprise partners. Every freelancer I know with Drupal in their portfolio is turning down gigs left and right because they're out of capacity.

Most shops I've worked with have given up on finding out of the box talent and have started hiring developers and training them on Drupal.

All of the recruiters I've talked to in the last eight months that where trying to fill a Drupal-related position where tearing their hair out trying to find loose talent.

In short, there is HUGE demand for Drupal talent right now.

I'm actually seeing a shift in the marketplace to more Wordpress projects than Drupal.

This is probably true on the small end of things, and I've had discussions around Drupal vs. Wordpress in enterprise-ish environments, but Wordpress is still not a serious contender in the enterprise space.

I'd be interested in talking to the folks at Automattic to see where they're trying to take things though. Seems like everybody wants to play in everyone else's space. I have a sneaking suspicion that by the time all of the major open source CMS projects are on an even keel the target will have moved and frameworks will be "the thing".

What segment of the marketplace are you referring to? Corporate clients, large nonprofits, government and .edu doesn't seem to be using wordpress for much.
