I studied AI at University, and it was mostly about search.

I learned Prolog, which was a real eye-opener about functions that can find paths backwards, a kind of reverse search.

I also learned about Bayes, and have come up with an algorithm (myself) which is similiar to Bayes, but it's top secret at the moment.




There is a bit of a renaissance going on within some arcane fields of AI. There is work underway to try to create a real thinking machine, with the idea that we have come a long way in our understanding about neuroscience, etc.
