www has three times as many syllables as 'world wide web', yet somehow it caught on.



Back in the day, we used to say "triple-dub" for www-- but that never caught on with the mainstream users, and died out around 1995 or 6, I suppose.


Just curious; how often have you heard dub-dub-dub for www?


I use that all the time, but the only other person I've heard say it is the person I picked the habit up from.


In Polish, it's pronounced wuwuwu
