Nice job! From the video it looks like many of the pages share the same buttons. I'm curious how you detect which page is open to operate the corresponding circuit?
Congratulations on your success with this! If shipping to my country weren't $20 I'd order one like a shot.
Would you mind telling me how you rate Jellop? I see them on a lot of successful Kickstarters, and would love to hear about the real experience of them.
They have been great. I feel like they run a good honest transparent operation. I think they are also pretty picky about which projects they take on; I applied before the campaign and they didn’t want to get on board, but that changed after the project raised 150k.
It wouldn't take much more to make this useful for older people, e.g. farther non-obvious separation of buttons (e.g. across pages), or in time. Humans are really bad about associating unrelated things from too few samples or missing recurring things just outside our window of attention.
Looks like the perfect book for my toddlers that love light switches. One question I don't see answered is what type of battery is it? We are trying to avoid coin batteries with their curious mouths.
It uses a small CR2320 battery. To access the battery you'll need to remove a sticker on the back cover, and then the battery is glued in with hot glue, so you'll need some pliers to remove the glue, and then you'll need a small tool to push the battery out of the circuit board. Rest assured, it's not going to be an easy battery to remove.
