This is awesome and a must read for everyone in our industry. Free and open source is a fantastic tool for making money. It should absolutely be viewed and used that way.

Does it work? Yes. Google sells free software (Android). Red Hat sells free Linux. Even Apple sells free BSD Unix as MacOS.

The idea that free and open source software survives on donations and love is not only inaccurate but also stifling because it keeps people from monetizing free code when they could and should.
