I've lived in the Bay Area and San Francisco and around California for 40 years. And for 40 years, I have read this same exact sentiment every year.
When I lived in SF, I found every sneaky parking spot in the city and always found parking and there was always cool stuff to do in SF. Lived in Santa Monica and the beach was always bitchin'. OK, I admit, Sacramento really, really sucked. But everywhere else is great.
Anyways, I've heard the same thing for forever. "People are fake in LA", "People are money grubbers in the SF Bay." Well, it is not true. I've known plumbers and electricians and lawyers and photographers, none of whom make $30 billion in stock.
Anyways, same old same old, been there done that, hearing the same thing for 40 years. Boring.
