As soon as I read that he discovered the icon rows slid horizontally, I thought in my head "the design should have hinted at this by showing a bit of the next icon in the row", not realizing that's exactly what the iOS screenshot below would show. That was a nice bit of validation! Sometimes you don't need to do a whole lot to make a design more understandable and accessible.
