I have to agree with this, but I think insecurity may affect junior developers more so than their seniors. Most of the new, in-demand tech that companies require of their applicants can be learned within a week or two, to be able to successfully contribute. That is, if you're already experienced with a number of complex frameworks or libraries. Then, It's simply a matter of reading the manual to figure out how to move the data from one place to another.

On the other hand, for a junior dev trying to break into the workplace, selecting the correct technology could be considered an important investment of their time, and ultimately their livelihood.
