OpenRA is an absolutely amazing open source effort. After COVID made some of my regular meetups with friends difficult, we started playing OpenRA on a regular basis. The retro gaming feel, rock-solid playing experience, a vibrant online community with excellent, commented screen-casts on youtube (looking at you, FiveAces) make this all a very pleasant experience, run entirely by volunteers.
