This seems silly. You don’t compare modern things like VI or Emacs or even X to custom-written editors, you turn to old times.

Text editor? Try PC Write, needs MS DOS 3.3, takes 50 kilobytes on disk.

Compiler? Try Turbo Pascal 3, fastest compiler of 1983! At about 100KB it will fit on your floppy together with DOS and user apps. And it comes with nifty text editor too.

Graphics? Your Pascal program needs EGAVGA.BGI. It is pretty big (5KB, more than 5000 bytes!), so it is not included by default in case you need to save some space.
