FreeBSD's ZFS implementation is really solid and if the integrity of your data cluster is a top priority, this is one area where it really pays dividends.
Yeah, I run a raidz2 (I was young back when I built it ;-) and have replaced all but one of the drives at least once. Rock solid. And bhyve + zfs, that's really cool. More and more of my Debian (multiple version) appliances are small bhyve instances on my 32 thread 128 GB poudriere build box. Chrome and Firefox and a few rusty or haskelly things get in the queue and it do get a bit laggy... NBD.
