B. I'm not saying there wasn't any wacko who fantasized about overthrowing the the Government and throning an Emperor.

But regime change through force is an impossible task. See: The last 50 years of American foreign policy.




Regimes do change through force. See for example Ghana or Nigeria or Egypt.

However, the impetus has to come from within the country or else the new regime will be seen as a puppet state and face challenges it is unable or unwilling to handle.

Isn't that exactly how most coups are done? Take Iran in '79 as an example.
