Nintendo Switch Emulator (yuzu-emu.org)

Reverse engineered wink wink. In other news apparently Switch sdk leaked some time ago.

I do wonder how all the Nintendo leaks do/will/don't impact emulator development. If the core team don't look at it, fine but how can they accept PRs/MRs and make sure nothing from the leak makes it into their codebase via a third party? Or is that just not a problem?

don't be a narc :P

I haven't tried it yet, but I can say the Cemu emulator (Wii U) works quite better than I imagined.

this is really cool - great work, but what's the probability of nintendo nuking this?

Emulators are legal, I believe.

Emulation is 100% legal as long as the BIOS for the emulated system and any game ROMs are sourced from legal systems/copies iirc

Depending on the Google/Oracle trial fallout, it could become illegal to implement system APIs because of API copyright. So while CPU instruction set emulation is fine, depending on how system emulators work, they could be deemed “illegal”.

There's longstanding emulators for every other Nintendo console

On what grounds?

This is a meme, right now, on Twitch etc.

What a dumb meme
