Looking back at when the book was published, we had PowerPlant, CSet++, SOM, COM, CORBA, Turbo Vision, OWL, MFC, VCL, Motif++.

Definitely representative.

I like C++, and yes there is more to C++ than those OOP frameworks, yet lets not pretend that what gave birth to Java like enterprise coding came from C++ development practices during the decade that preceded it.
