Generating the Mandelbrot Set
That's surprising. BBC BASIC on a 2Mhz 6502 could render 128x256 (a square using fat pixels) in about 6 hours. I've seen a recent optimised 6502 assembly version, also on the BBC Micro, that runs in about a minute.
