I do this, but one of the sites I don't care about has graduated to "do care about", and may have been using the same lightly customized password as Gawker. Lesson: I should pay more attention to which sites are important and need to be upgraded.
As soon as you realize a site is important, update your password. That should solve the problem, right? Unless someone breaks in between the time that you realize it's important and the time you want to change your password.
