I hope nobody will be mislead of the reasons google released AMP and AMP for email. It have nothing to do with performance(for AMP) or interactivity(amp4email) and more with establishing a vendor wallgarden.

The standard is "open like in openxml" - there's a technical commitee, but your input will not be heard.

What makes you think input won't be heard?

When have your web people ever listened to input? Not Web Audio, not 'autoplay' banning, not AMP, not NPAPI, that's for sure. I was on the Chrome team and your leadership still told me to pound sand. Your leadership deserve nothing but contempt.

^ Note that this is a google employee

It'll be heard, but no one will care. Everyone who disagrees with their direction just gets ignored, because they know you're powerless to do anything to them.

It's Google. The only company that hears everything you say and listens to none of it.

Like OOXML, it's probably mostly the case to woo government to use their proprietary format.

Additionally, I think with AMP, you might be able to get your input heard, but only if you run a mail service with millions of users.

Past experience, maybe?
