It's not just Oregon. Haswell (4th Gen) is based off of Haswell, CO (Intel has a presence in Fort Collins, CO) and Kaby Lake (8th gen) is based off a lake in Canada.



I'm from Colorado and never heard of Haswell. I'm pretty well acquainted with mountain towns, but Haswell is a tiny town in eastern Colorado. Intel chose it because of the easy to pronounce name.
