How do we know this feature doesn't also disable the headphones-over-usb if the phone hasn't been unlocked in a week? I don't think that would be a problem for most users either.
You can install iOS 11.4 beta and find out one way or the other; it doesn’t seem like anyone has done so yet, and since no one thought to do so before today’s post, no one will know for 7 days assuming they start today.
