The software wouldn't need to be touch, they could have a separate section for desktop apps.

Can you imagine the revenue stream for Apple if you could get desktop apps on iTunes?

I'm not at all concerned about it as they couldn't make it exclusive, people would run to windows... but they would still achieve a huge market share.

Maybe OS X 10.7?
