Yes, this is a major concern for PC gaming. I have a couple 1070s I bought for 400$/each, now I could get double that used. In-freaking-sane.



just curious but why not sell them now and buy newer ones later for non-inflated prices?

how is it possible that AMD seems to be at the limit of production for their GPUs but barely beat estimated earnings this quarter?


If you're trying to be economically rational you're better off simply using the GPUs to mine while you're not using them. ROI time is around 6-9 months for most GPUs these days.


Does that include electricity costs? For which cryptocurrency?


yes the electricity cost is almost insignificant. currently most profitable on GPU is XMR before it was ETH, profitability changes as the prices fluxuate

At least in my case, it’s because I want to play games in the meantime between now and when mining finally dies.
